What better way to announce I moved to Mexico City than writing a blog post about it! So it happened. I finally worked up the courage to say adios to my job, my friends, family and go on a solo adventure of a life time.

Me, myself and I took off January 9th to go live a life abroad starting in a colonia in Mexico City called La Condesa. Sound somewhat familiar? The award winning foreign film Roma, written and directed by Alfonso Cuaron, was filmed in parts of this area. Maybe you've never heard of it, because we often forget that there is more to Mexico than just tequila and beaches ;)
So you're wondering why? Okay, I'll tell you...
Because I wanted to. I have been dreaming of living abroad since the day I graduated college. Mexico had never been my dream destination until I started to realize that my definition of "travel" does not mean lounging on a beach (which is totes fine if that's what you consider travel). However, I wanted to go somewhere with culture, history and beauty. I picked Mexico City because I knew I could learn a lot from the people and explore a different way of life. I felt that if I were to live somewhere, I should live as the people do. Also, I am extremely excited to get into the salsa dancing scene here and dance my heart out :)

So what the bleep are you doing there?
Excellent question! Last Summer I completed my TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) Certification. I am licensed to teach english anywhere in the world and Mexico is one of the greatest places to find a job. Yes, I will be teaching english in addition to doing some marketing consulting work back in the states. I will work majority online and spend lots of time in coffee shops and other outside venues teaching english and consulting. Neato huh!? I think so :)

How are you doing?
My first few days have been fabulous! I feel incredibly safe in Colonia Condesa. I met a friend from New York, who is absolutely amazing. (Yay Sarah! You made a friend). My Airbnb is ADORABLE and the food.... OMG INSANELY AMAZING! Check out my Chilaquiles I ate my first morning in Mexico City.... Dear lord, I cannot explain how good these were. I am so excited to eat my way through the city and get to experience life in ways I never thought imaginable at the age of 25.
For now, this is all from me. Thank you everyone for your kind words of wisdom and support. <3 Follow @eatzandcookz on Instagram for mouthwatering delicious foods and travels!
